The kick-off meeting for the Erasmus+ project “Music as a Tool for the Inclusion of Migrants and Refugees” took place in Luxembourg, bringing together partners from France, Turkey, Belgium, and Luxembourg. This exciting initiative aims to use the power of music to help young migrants and refugees integrate into their new communities and foster social inclusion.
The meeting was a fantastic opportunity for partners to connect and discuss how music can bridge cultural divides, promote empathy, and build understanding between migrants and locals. The project will see a range of activities rolled out in each partner country, including musical workshops and training programs for youth workers. These workshops will give young refugees the chance to express themselves through music, while also learning new skills and sharing their cultural heritage.
The partners also outlined plans for a training course aimed at youth workers, helping them learn how to use music as a tool for non-formal education and inclusion. The project is part of a broader effort to create more inclusive, welcoming communities across Europe, in line with the EU’s goals for social equity and youth empowerment.
With the kick-off meeting wrapped up, the team is excited to start rolling out activities in the coming months, bringing the joy and connection of music to young migrants and their new communities.
