Şinasi Yelkenci, who calls himself “Marine Scavenger”, has no art education. He is constantly working to catch the ideal of "clean sea", which he started twenty years ago by collecting garbage from the seas. At the end of the twenty years, when the seas are cleared of an ant, they turn those garbage into artworks. The aim of Yelkenci is to draw attention to environmental pollution and the massacre of nature, which has become increasingly impossible to recover. For years, he collects garbage of the seas on different beaches with environmentally sensitive volunteers. Previously, he started to make various motifs on the beach from the seaside. These instant works were only permanent in the photo frames. His work in Burgazada,Turkey where he went for four years on the weekends, attracted the attention of the people of the island.
